He was not only an author but also a producer and director.

He was an American in nationality.

Life of the Author

Sidney Sheldon was born on 11th February 1917 in Chicago.

His father Ascher Otto Schechtel was a Russian jewellery descendents And his mother name was Natalie Marcus.

He graduated his high school from Denver East High School and later on moved to Northwestern University for his college degree.

After completion of college he moved for Hollywood.

Career

He was started his career with writing musicals for Broadways stage at the same time he continuing to write screenplays for both Paramount Pictures and MGM Studios.

At the same time he had three musicals on Broadways:-A Merry Widow,Jackpot and Dream With Music which given him an image of prolific writer.

His success on Broadways back him to Hollywood.

His first film was "The Bachelor And The Bobby-Soxer" .He was writer on the screenplays of two musical film "Easter Parade" and "Annie Get Your Gun".

Then he decided to try his hands on television industry and he produced and wrote many shows.his first show was "A Petty Duke Show". Other shows of Sidney Sheldon was "I Dream Of Jeannie","Nancy","Hart To Hart".

Sidney Sheldon wrote his first novel "The Naked Face" on the year 1969, Which gave him the nomination for the Edgar Allan Poe Awards in the best first book category.

His second book was "The Other Side Of The Midnight". This book was the no 1 bestseller of The New york Times.This book contains stories about woman who preservers in a tough world hostile by men.

"A Stranger In The Mirror" was the third book of Sidney.This novels tells about the story of two fictitious Hollywood celebrity.He portrays the emotional extremes of success and failure and how the people inevitably become victims of time.

His fourth book was "Bloodline". It was released on 1977.This book was also one of the best novels of Sidney Sheldon.Story was about a woman who dare to save her life and company.The story of this book was accepted as the miniseries also.

In 1980 his fifth book was published "Rage Of Angels". The story based on a young attorney who used by a ruthless attorney to get his client off.She was almost fired and disbarred but fights back to become a top attorney.

"Master of the Game" was the sixth novels of the novelist published on 1982.This book was translated into many languages and reprinted seven times.This book was also one of the best seller book of that time.The book is about a beautiful woman who parlayed her inheritance into a conglomerate.She was the symbol of success and winner of unique position among wealth and world renowned.she has manipulate,loved and dominated her family  in absence of her father who returned from South Africa with diamonds and celebrating his ninetieth birth.story continued......     

           
Next book of Sidney was "If Tomorrow comes " published on 1985.It was a crime fiction novel based on the story of an ordinary woman who is framed by a mafia and her fights for untouchable crimes.The story of this book was adopted as miniseries.

seventh book was "Wind Mills Of God" published on 1987.About a story of a woman heroism and curiosity against an unknown terror.

"The Sands of Time" was the Eighth book of Sidney published on 1988.The book follows the story of four adventures woman who forced to leave their Spanish convent for the outside world of threat,violence and passion and two woman who are pitted against each other in a fight to the death.This was one the best seller book of Sidney.

               

Ninth book was "Memories Of Midnight" .This book was also known as The Other Side Of Midnight 2 and a sequel of the same book.The played was a game of love,lost and Death.

"The Doomsday Conspiracy" was the tenth novel of Sidney.This was a thriller novel published on 1991.The story was about an American naval officer who encounters a mysterious force during an investigation in a balloon accident in the Swiss alps.This was the best seller book of that year.

Eleventh book of Sidney was "The Stars Shine down". The story all about passion,intrigue,embition and revenge published on 1992.The story was moving around a beautiful,young,self made tycoon who fought with a uncontrollable forces from her secret past.

 

"Nothing Lasts Forever" was the twelfth book of Sidney published on 1994.The story was a medical thriller and about three female doctor who tried to prove themselves in a male dominated profession.Each of them had their own stories and connected with each other.

Thirteenth novel of the writer was "Morning Noon And Night" published on 1995.The story was about a mysterious girl who claims that she is long lost daughter of a dead wealthiest man.

fourteenth novel "The Best Laid Plans" was published on 1997.The story was all about power and revenge.

"Tell Me Your Dreams" was fifteenth novels of Sidney published on 1998.The story was about three girls of dissimilar nature and the three woman are linked by a murder investigation who lead to one of the difficult trials of the century.

seventeenth novel of Sidney Sheldon was "The Sky Is Falling" published on 2001.The story was about a female anchor and a murder case.

"Are You Afraid Of The Dark?" the last and eighteenth book of Sidney Sheldon.It was published on 2004. The story is like that four people in four cities die mysteriously.All the dead person share a link that everyone connected to an all powerful environmental think tank.

Sidney Sheldon achieved a lots of honor and awards.

He was an Academy award winning writer for original screenplay in The Bachelor Of  Bobby-Soxer

In total he wrote 18 novels,He is the seventh best selling writer of all time.
