Yash Chopra a big name in the bollywood film industry.
He is an Indian film maker born on September 23, 1932 in Lahore.
Recently he is died in October 21, 2012.
He is famous for his romantic films, beautiful songs and
script writings.
Carrier
Yash Chopra began his carrier as an assistant director to
I.S. Johar
and his elder brother, B.R. Chopra.
His own directed first film was Dhool Ka Phool in 1959.
He founded his own production company in 1973 named it as
yashraj production.
First film of this production company was Daag stared by
Rajendra kumar and Mala sinha.
Continuously this company give many hit films to
bollywood.
His last directed film was jab tak hai jaan.

RELATIONSHIP AND FREQUENT COLLABORATION
Many actors give their frequent collaboration to his
films. The actors are Amitabh Bachhan, Shashi Kapoor, Waheeda Rehman, Rani
Mukherjee and Shah Rukh Khan.
Yash Chopra started his best phase of films with Amitabh
bachhan by directing films like Deewar, Kabhie Kabhie, Silsila, Kala
Pathar,trishul, Dusra Admi,Vijay,Faasle and Mashaal.
He launched Shah Rukh Khan with Darr and it’s a great hit
in box office which makes Shah Rukh Khan famous in bollywood.
He turned to production and Aditya Chopra made his
directorial debut with Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (1995), which had the
longest-running initial release in cinema history. He directed one more film Dil To Pagal Hai (1997), a love story set
against the theater, which became a huge success and a cult hit.
He made a grand
comeback with Veer-Zaara (2004), a
love story of a pakisthani girl and a indian boy.This picture also a great hit
in box office.
And at last Jab tak Hai Jaan(2012) before his retirement
in 2012.

He won national film award for best popular film in 1990
for Chandni, 1994 for Darr, 1996 for Dilwale Dulhaniya Lejayenge,
1998 for Dil To Pagal Hai, 2005 for Veer Zaara.
He won Filmfare best director award for Waqt in 1965,
Ittefaq in 1969, Daag in 1973, Deewar in 1975 and Filmfare best movie award for
Lamhe in 1991, Dilwale Dulhaniya Lejayenge in 1995, Dil
To Pagal Hai in 1997, Veer-Zaara in 2004.
India government awarded him with the Padma Bhusan in
2005.
He was awarded with Dr. Dadabhai Naoroji Millennium
Lifetime Achievement award in 2001.
He was awarded with Dadasaheb phalke award in 2001, the
topmost and the highest honor given in the Indian film.
Personal life
Yash Chopra married to Pamela Singh in 1970.
He have two son Aditya Chopra and Uday Chopra born in
1971 and 1973.
Aditya Chopra is also film director and producer and hold
the position of vice chairman and general manager of yashraj films.
